Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI®)

Supporting UT Austin’s priorities to increase self-awareness of diversity and promote inclusion, 20 Division staff members completed the Qualifying Seminar for Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI®) Administrators. They offer training to students who live in on-campus residence halls and participate in student organizations as well as Division staff and campus partners.

Dr. Lilly is partnering with Executive Vice President and Provost Maurie McInnis to lead this new initiative. The working group consists of faculty, staff, students and units across campus who will identify and find solutions to increase campus-wide support for first-generation Longhorns.

Listening Series

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs team meets with students regularly at the office and locations across campus. The Listening Series gives students the ability to share their campus-climate concerns, achievements and status updates in an informal setting. The Hate and Bias Incidents Policy is a significant campus-wide initiative that developed from Listening Series conversations.

Division New Staff Welcome

The Division’s senior leaders host this program to welcome new staff members to the team. They share information about the Division’s cutting-edge programs, services and facilities. The Defamation Experience

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs hosts this nationally-touring, interactive theater program to inspire a conversation about diversity and inclusion. The program explores race, religion, gender and class through a courtroom case where the audience is the jury.

Counseling Fees

In January 2018 President Gregory L. Fenves announced the Counseling and Mental Health Center’s new charge structure. Students no longer pay the $10 individual counseling appointment charge and pay only $10 of the $15 appointment charge for psychiatry. The Longhorn Network is subsidizing these charges.
