40 Hours for the Forty Acres, April 6-7

By Alma Garcia

Two exciting opportunities are coming up this month for YOU to get involved in Division of Student Affairs fundraising efforts! Following last month’s public launch of the university’s What Starts Here fundraising campaign, we are encouraging you to now participate in April’s 40 Hours for the Forty Acres and Thanks Day activities.

40 Hours for the Forty Acres, April 6-7

Longhorns anywhere in the world can participate in 40 Hours for the Forty Acres, the university’s biannual, university-wide online fundraising event. It kicks off April 6 at 6 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m. on April 7. This campaign encourages everyone in our community – students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters – to give a gift of any size to a participating program, organization or department. Our Division participants include:

  • Counseling and Mental Health Center
  • New Student Services
  • Office of the Dean of Students
    • Sorority and Fraternity Life
    • Student Activities
    • Student Conduct and Academic Integrity
    • Student Emergency Services (UT Student Emergency Fund)
    • Texas Leadership Education and Development
    • Veteran and Military Affiliated Services
  • Recreational Sports
  • University Health Services
  • University Unions
  • Vice President for Student Affairs

Please sign-up to become an ambassador and make a gift before the campaign begins.

Thanks Day, April 12

Thank You

Thanks Day is our opportunity to say a big thank you to our supporters. Over the past two years, the Division of Student Affairs has pivoted and innovated to serve students during the global pandemic. In that time, we received an outpouring of support from friends, parents, donors and staff.

Now, with this semester’s return to in-person campus activities, our students will once again be able to write thank-you notes to those who influenced the Longhorn life. If you know a student who would be interested in writing a thank-you note or have questions about these activities, please contact Alma Garcia.
