The university is one month away from publicly launching the What Starts Here campaign on March 4! The campaign is making strides toward the $5 billion goal, raising close to $3.5 billion so far. The Division of Student Affairs has raised nearly $23 million of our $30 million goal for direct student support and program funding. With the help of our campaign steering committee and the Longhorn Family Leadership Council, we’re focused on raising $5 million to create a permanent endowment that will provide ongoing support for programs across the Division.

To help get this campaign kicked off, we’ll welcome alumni and donors back to campus for a Student Affairs Showcase on March 4. Attendees will take in student organization performances and a student panel, and get to mix and mingle with our own VP for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Soncia Reagins-Lilly. The event will be an excellent opportunity for our supporters to engage with students and staff from across the Division.

A big shout out and thank you to all of our staff members who help engage donors by sharing stories of our work and the impact it has on students. These are the stories that influence and inspire our donors to invest in our students and support the work we do as we influence the Longhorn life.

This teamwork and collaboration echoes Aristotle’s famous quote, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Our development efforts across the Division are successful and most effective because we work together.
